Sonic will he survive?

The fans may disagree.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a gaming mascot created by Yuji Naka and his team at Sega. The release of Sonic The Hedgehog for Sega Mega Drive or Sega Genesis was a smash hit! Popular among everyone for his speed and spiky back, and even his red shoes and attitude, Sonic rivaled Mario. The 2nd and 3rd installment improved stages and bonus stages, and added twirling 3d effects that some speculated not even the Snes could handle.

Alot of people don't remember this for various of reasons, but Sonic was back in the days, a very hard game. And Sonic 2 - 3 might be even harder depending whether you played it or not.

Sonic with a bit of humanity.

When the Dreamcast arrived on store shelves, back in 1999-2000 Sonic Adventure was right their to aw players with blistering fast graphics and a super cool soundtrack. Sonic Adventure is still highly regarded by players, so let's dissect this game. Well first of, it has a bit of a hang over when it comes to collision detection, you may think well that's because it's the first 3D Sonic game. Well... That's only part true since Sonic Jam was in 3D on Saturn and before Sonic Adventure many had more or less played Mario 64 which was considered the best game ever made!

That's not all though, Sonic Adventure graphics was not miles better than Mario 64 which was a little let down as a new owner of a very expensive new 128bit console. Besides the few things i already mentioned there is also a very janky camera, Remember the hovering turtle cloud behind Mario in Mario 64? Well Sonic adventure is like that in that, the camera is something physical behind you, and it get's stuck. And no you cant see it using mirrors in the game.

Glitches was not uncommon either, but every game has it if you try hard enough. But Sonic Adventure had a pattern, if you don't play Sonic Adventure in a particular way certain things will just go haywire. This is mostly known on the shoddy Gamecube/PC ports.

So the big question is, how come Sonic Adventure became such a big hit with fans? And even becoming one of the best, if not the best selling Dreamcast games of all time. Sonic Adventure had back 1999 exactly, what Sonic 1 had back in 1991. Back then we got an anazing game, we had the character and his goal and not only that, he had little bit of personality and an awesome soundtrack. Sonic Adventure gave fans exactly what they needed over 10 years ago. Sonic got a voice, he had friends who shared his story/adventure with, and it was not just A - B anymore the Sandbox playground made even the most hardcore Mario fan smile.
